  11. The DDN MANAGEMENT BULLETIN is distributed online by the DDN Network
  12. Information Center under DISA contract as a means of communicating
  13. official policy, procedures and other information of concern to
  14. management personnel at DDN facilities.  Back issues may be read
  15. through the TACNEWS server ("@n" command at the TAC) or may be
  16. obtained by FTP (or Kermit) from the NIC.DDN.MIL host [192.112.36.5]
  17. using login="anonymous" and password="guest".  The pathname
  18. for bulletins is ddn-news/ddn-mgt-bulletin-nn.txt (where "nn" is the
  19. bulletin number).

  22.                     Offutt MILNET DDN Node Down-Time
  23.                         
  24. 1.  Due to PSN 105 hardware upgrade and the de-installation of PSN 144 at
  25.     Offutt AFB, the Offutt Milnet DDN node will not be operational starting 
  26.     0900 CST until at least 1500 CST on 9 Dec 91.  As on any hardware upgrade, 
  27.     there is a possibility that the action will take longer than expected.  
  28.     This PSN provides 1-800 dial in service for a large geographic area, 
  29.     in order to continue to provide this service, DISA will request ATT to 
  30.     reroute all 1-800 Offutt traffic to nodes 124 and 147 at Wright Patterson 
  31.     AFB.  The rerouting will stay in effect until the TAC at PSN 105 is 
  32.     operational.  Once the TAC is operational, it will take ATT about one 
  33.     hour to change the routing back to Offutt.  We anticipate a maximum time 
  34.     of three days (9 Dec through 11 Dec 91) that this rerouting may be 
  35.     required.  Due to the amount of usage of the Offutt dial ins, Wright 
  36.     Patterson will have considerably more busy signals.  Please bear with us 
  37.     during the upgrade, we will re-establish normal service as quickly as 
  38.     possible.
